NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr probably has plenty of his old football cards lying around the house in Birmingham. But a well-meaning Indiana fan’s gift still touched him enough to return the favor.
Herb Edwards thought he’d stop and say hello to Bart Starr when the former Packers’ quarterback visited in his hometown of Evansville for a prostate cancer awareness benefit autograph session.
He brought along an old Starr football card he’d saved. "It had been hanging on a wall in my basement for 35 years," said Edwards, a prostate cancer survivor. "I just thought he might like to have it."
