Located just 34 miles from New York City but with a population of over 130,000 on its own, Stamford, CT was a natural choice for promoters of the Northeast Sports Card Expo to host an event.
Their first ever show among a series of them in and around New England took place last Saturday and Sunday at the Armon Hotel.
The show offered 300 vendor tables of vintage and modern cards and memorabilia, spread out over 50,000-square-feet of show space.
Former boxers, baseball and basketball players and a Hall of Fame college coach were among the autograph signers.
Autograph guests included: Gerald Wilkins, Dwight Gooden, Nelson Figueroa, boxing champs Ray Mercer, Gerry Cooney and Marlon Starling, former UConn coach Jim Calhoun, former UConn player Chris Smith, UConn women’s standout Ayanna Patterson, pro hockey player Jillian Dempsey and current and former pro wrestlers.
Prize raffles were held during the show’s two-day run.
The next Northeast Expo will take place in Quincy, MA, Nov 18 & 19.
