There was a time not long ago when it seemed like it wasn’t possible, but this month our sports plates will be overflowing. MLB, NBA, NHL and now the NFL and college football appear on track to open their seasons. There will be plenty of new products to open while you’re taking in the action from your couch.
Here’s a look at some products currently on the schedule for the first half of September.
9/2
2020 Donruss Football
Donruss returns with its 400-card base set leading the way. Each hobby box will have 18 packs with ten cards per pack. A typical box will have 12 rookies, six Rated Rookies, 12 parallels, plus an autograph and memorabilia card. Boxes are online for just over $200.
As usual, there will be blaster boxes and hangar packs on the retail side, each with their own exclusive parallels.
2020 Immaculate Collegiate Football
A hobby box of Collegiate will contain one pack, and Panini is promising five autograph or memorabilia cards. The sixth card will be from the base set and will be numbered, but some packs will include a base parallel card. Boxes are selling for $450-$500 right now.
Autograph cards will include 2020 draft picks like Joe Burrow and current NFL standouts pictured from their collegiate days.
9/3
2020 Topps Stadium Club Baseball
Known for its unique photography, Stadium Club’s 2020 edition will offer 16 packs per box with eight cards per pack. Each box should carry two autographs.
The base set will offer 300 cards including veterans, rookies and big names from the past.
Hobby boxes are going for about $120 but there are retail blasters, too.
9/18 (updated from original 9/11 release date)
2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball
Topps will offer two configurations of 2020 BoChro: a traditional box with 12 packs (two six-pack mini boxes) and an all autograph HTA Choice edition that offers nothing but three signed cards per box.
The HTA boxes will have some exclusive autograph parallels including Green Atomic Refractor, Gold Shimmer Refractor, and the all-new Black Mojo Refractor.

2020-21 Upper Deck O-Pee-Chee Hockey
This early-season product has the distinction of coming out during the previous season thanks to COVID-19. Sporting a robust 600-card base set, O-Pee-Chee perennially features the most comprehensive single-season set in hockey. It’s not a box for traditional hit chasers, but there are plenty of inserts, variations, parallels, etc.
Hobby boxes will be more, but you can also try it out with blaster and retail versions already listed online.

2020 Panini Mosaic Football
After starting as a basketball brand, Mosaic comes to the NFL in 2020. Hobby boxes will have 10 packs of 15 cards including two autograph, five Silver parallels, 15 Mosaic parallels and 20 inserts.
There will be other configurations as well including Hobby Choice, No Huddle and blaster boxes meant for retail.
Hobby boxes are running a little under $800 on eBay.
