After a late April and early May lull, some fairly prominent annual releases are set to arrive through mid-May.
Courtesy of Maine Sports Cards, here’s an overview of some of the products that you’ll see.
2017-18 Panini National Treasures Basketball (5/4)
This one-pack box includes ten cards, eight of which feature autographs and/or memorabilia pieces, a base or parallel card and another autograph, memorabilia or printing plate hit. The Printing Plates will include products from across Panini’s 2017-18 basketball releases.
Rookie Patch Autographs are among the prizes here with on-card signatures of the 2017-18 NBA Draft class. Look for 1/1 Inscriptions and Logoman variations.
Boxes are available for sale online in the $900-$1,000 range.
2018 Panini Majestic Football (5/9)
Back for a second year, Majestic is a mix of newly drafted rookies as well as current and former greats. The rookie cards will be the first to have autographed memorabilia from this year’s draftees. Majestic is also a mix of on-card and sticker autographs.
This year, hobby boxes will have four autographs, one of which will be a Rookie Patch Autograph, two memorabilia cards, one parallel and one base card. Cases should average two multi-autograph cards and two hard-signed cards. Fewer memorabilia cards means a lower price tag at just under $300. Maine Sports Cards is breaking boxes of Majestic.
2018 Topps Tier One Baseball (5/16)
A Tier One hobby box is all hits with each one pack box holding three cards (two autos and one relic). Tier One hangs its hat on the bat knob cards, and they will return this year with a larger checklist (100 subjects) and all as 1/1 cards.
There will also be your standard autographs, along with book cards and Signature Tools Autograph Relics, which will include an autograph– and a piece of the pen the player used to sign his name on that very card.
Boxes of Tier One run about $120 online.
2017-18 Upper Deck SP Authentic Hockey (5/16)
Each box of SP Authentic will have two autographs, one of which will be from the long-running Future Watch line. Among the big hits will be Sign of the Times autos which are numbered as low as 5 and another draw will be Connor McDavid Young Guns Buyback autos.
One interesting subset will be Rookie Year Milestones, which will feature photos of veteran players from their rookie season.
Boxes are online for around $120.
2017-18 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Hockey (5/16)
Yes, Upper Deck is releasing two hockey products simultaneously. Ultimate Collection returns with three premium hits per four-card box including a Rookie Autograph numbered to 399 or less. Upper Deck promises all autograph cards will be signed on-card.
Among the biggest hits are 1/1 Autographed Rookie Shields as well as Ultimate Legacy and Future Legacy Autographs with some numbered as low as three. There will also be redemption cards you can turn in for a Connor McDavid card that will be personally autographed to you.
Boxes of Ultimate Collection are running about $140 online.
Topps Platinum MLS (5/11) and Leaf In The Game Used Hockey (5/4) are also due out.
