Some 2018-19 hockey products continue to trickle out ahead of the new season along with two fresh football boxes as the new season gets going.
Here’s a look at mid-September sports card releases:
2018-19 Upper Deck Premier Hockey (9/11)
Yes, products dated to last season are still arriving.
Premier offers a single pack with at least one Acetate Rookie Auto Patch per box. Upper Deck has dropped the box price but cut the quantity of cards inside from seven to six. The company says three out of every five autographed cards in the product will have an oversized patch swatch.
New inserts include Premier Attractions Auto Patches, numbered to 99 or less.
Big hits include Platinum Blue autographs, limited to 3 and Inked Script.
Boxes are available on eBay for around $225.
2019 Topps Chrome UFC (9/11)
Topps puts the Chrome touch on its UFC license with each box carrying 24 packs of four cards. Each box should hold two autographed cards, one Blue Refractor, eight Refractor parallels, one X-Fractor and one Green Refractor.
Each box should include 12 insert cards, some of which will be printed on a design much like 1984 Topps baseball.
Boxes are available online for $60-$70.
2019 Panini Spectra Football (9/13)
Spectra offers four packs per box, each with four cards. Of those 16 cards, ten will feature either an autograph or memorabilia card and one will be an insert. The other five will be base or base parallels.
Rookie Patch Autographs (# to 99) and Radiant Rookie Patch Autographs (# to 199) will be among the hits but a pair of sets honoring last year’s Super Bowl champs will put Tom Brady autographs in the mix, including some with inscriptions.
This is a higher-end product with boxes available on eBay now for $350-$400.
2019 Bowman Chrome Baseball (9/13)
There will gain be two configurations for 2019 Bowman Chrome–one that’s more traditional and another for those who are only interested in autographs. The Master Box option has two mini boxes that will contain a total of 12 packs with five cards per pack. The HTA Choice version also returns, featuring one pack that has three cards–all autographed.
Of course, it’s the prospect autographs that collectors and investors seek out and there will be plenty of parallels to chase. Click the link above to get a full rundown. The HTA boxes with the three autos are about $30 more on eBay at present.
2019 Panini XR Football (9/18)
XR boxes will have two packs of seven cards. On average, each box should have two autographs (one guaranteed Rookie Autograph Jersey), one memorabilia card, one Jumbo Swatch or Triple Swatch jersey card, one insert, four parallels, four base cards and two rookies. Cards are printed on holographic stock and Panini is touting the quality of the base set.
Every 15-box case will pack a one-of-one Patch Autograph.
There will be multiple autograph relic subsets featuring this season’s rookies with a bunch of 1/1 possibilities that include NFL and Nike logos, laundry tags, team logos, draft hats, shoes, gloves and footballs.
Boxes are being offered on eBay with best prices currently running $120-$130.
Also set for release: Topps WWE Women’s Division (9/11); Flawless Collegiate Football (9/18); 2019 Prizm English Premier League Soccer (9/20) and Donruss Football Factory Sets (9/23).
