It’s a busy week for new sports card products with three hitting on one day alone.
Here’s a roundup of what’s coming:
2019 Topps Stadium Club Baseball (6/26)
The product that launched Topps’ push into the “high-end” realm back in 1991 is still here. The concept hasn’t changed–glossy cards with unique, eye-catching full-bleed photographs–but as with most 21st century issues, there are some hit elements, too.
A hobby box will contain 16 packs, with eight cards in each pack. Topps is promising two autograph cards per box and there will be a few inserts to chase including a “Beam Team” 1990s throwback.
There’s a 300-card base set with plenty of parallels.
The official release date for 2019 Stadium Club is Wednesday, June 26 but you can see what’s already been pulled and listed on eBay (along with boxes and sets) here.
2019 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions (6/26)
Another yearly staple, Goodwin Champions borrows the brand name and concept from the 19th century. The cards have the feel of what cards were like pre-1990s and it’s an eclectic mix of subjects past and present.
Each box will have 20 packs with five cards per pack. Each box will have three hits but autographs are generally found only in every third box. NBA Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic will have autographs in Goodwin as will Deandre Ayton and Ben Simmons.
Among the other hits: Signature Kicks with lace, patch, rubber and logos from shoes featured along with an on-card signature. All will be numbered to 35 or less.
Boxes are running a little over $100 on eBay.
2019 Panini Donruss Elite Football (6/26)
For around $140, Elite offers two autographs, one memorabilia card, three rookies, six parallels and eight inserts. Look for Turn of the Century Autographs from the top rookies of the 2019 NFL Draft Class, all numbered to 199 or less. Those rookies will be appearing in their NFL uniforms.
Pen Pals and Pen Pals Dual will feature on-card rookie autographs with black, blue, green, and red variations.
2018-19 Panini Chronicles Basketball (6/28)
Chronicles is a rookie-heavy product promising two autographs in every box. Each pack will have eight cards and there will be six packs per box (around $130 on eBay).
Gold Standard Rookie Jersey Autographs will be among the big hits, with all numbered from 99 down to 1-of-1.
2018-19 Upper Deck Clear Cut Hockey (7/3)
Clear Cut is a single card per pack/box product containing a hard-signed autograph in a sealed one-touch case. The checklist is based on the cards that were issued in 2018-19 Upper Deck Series 1 & 2.
Acetate versions of some of Upper Deck’s top rookie cards from prior years will be called Clear Cut Rookie Tribute. Embedded Endorsements will be a mix of rookies, veterans and former stars, all numbered to less than 100. Hockey Heroes will feature all-time greats.
Boxes are on eBay for a little over $80.
