If you’re looking for inexpensive sports card boxes to rip, the last half of June will be a good month.
Several new products are set to hit the market, with most on the inexpensive side.
Here’s a roundup of some of the products you can expect:
6/19
Topps Big League Baseball: A kid-oriented product, Big League comes in two forms this year. There’s a standard Hobby box with 18 packs of ten cards and a “Collector’s Box” with five packs plus a “Super 7 Figurine” of a big league player. Those even come with variations. Blaster boxes carry 10 packs.
It’s a low cost product and for adults who prefer their sets simple, the 300-card base set is an attraction. There are, however, a small number of parallels and autographs to chase if you like. All options are currently on eBay and pretty cheap.
2020 Topps Finest Baseball: The ever-shiny Finest returns for its annual summer visit. Hobby “master boxes” will have two packs or “mini boxes.” Each master box (around $170) will contain 12 packs with five cards per pack. Every master box contains two autographed cards.
2020 Topps Pro Debut Baseball: Yes, Topps is scheduled to let loose with three new products on the same day (along with 2020 Panini Prizm baseball). And no, the lack of a minor league season doesn’t mean no minor league baseball cards.
Pro Debut returns with cards of players “throughout the talent pipeline of Minor League Baseball,” according to Topps. Each hobby box carries 24 packs of eight cards with two autographs and two relic cards. Boxes are currently running about $90 on eBay.

Panini Chronicles Draft Picks Football: Making its debut as a Draft product, Chronicles includes a mix of 21 different Panini brand names rolled into one. There are eight cards per pack and six packs per hobby box. Each box should contain three autographs, one relic card and two parallels. Hobby boxes are around $250.
There’s also a retail edition with one autograph and four parallels among the highlights.
Topps Clearly Authentic Baseball: Clearly Authentic offers a single, autographed, encased card with a checklist focused on current players. Printed on clear, acetate stock, the cards will carry on-card signatures from stars and rookies. The main design is identical to that of the 2020 Topps flagship set.
They’re being pre-sold at around $75.
Panini Impeccable Soccer: A high-end product focused on the Premier League, each box of Impeccable carries one pack with eight cards, including four autographs plus one additional auto or memorabilia card, a base card, base parallel and insert.
The SRP is $500 per box.

2020 Panini Legacy Football: Each 2020 Legacy Football hobby box (around $185 on eBay) has 16 packs with eight cards per pack. Every box should have two autographs, two Opti-Chrome mini cards and four “premium edition” Opti-Chrome cards.
2020 Topps Series 2 Baseball: It would be nice if collectors could open a box of Series 2 while watching a live baseball game, wouldn’t it? It may happen–just not on release day this year.
Just as in Series 1, hobby boxes will contain 24 packs of 14 cards with an autograph or relic. Jumbo packs will carry 46 cards with ten of them in each box. Blaster boxes, fat packs, etc., are expected as well.

2019-20 Upper Deck Engrained Hockey: Back for a second season but pushed back from its originally scheduled release date of late April, Engrained is a single pack box that will contain six cards, including three autograph and/or memorabilia cards.
One of the autos is from Signature Shots, which have manufactured carbon fiber or wood pieces with on-card autographs.
Boxes are available for around $220.
