The sports card release calendar for the first half of June is a relatively light one, but there will be some fresh material on the market, especially if you love soccer.
Here’s a roundup of what’s in the works:
June 1
2021 Bowman University Basketball
Topps brings its “University” brand to hoops for the first time with this Bowman-branded release that’s focused on potential members of the 2022 NBA Draft class.
Each box of 2021-22 Bowman University Basketball will have 24 packs with four cards per pack and two autographs per box.
Look for tons of Refractor parallels for both the 100 card base set and the autographs.
Boxes are being offered on eBay for $150-$175.

2021 Panini Prizm Football
Better late than never, 2021 Prizm arrives long after the end of the NFL season, but there’s always plenty of interest in this product.
A hobby box will contain 12 cards, with 12 cards to a pack. Look for two autographs and five inserts per hobby box. Collectors can expect an average of four Silver Prizms per box and an additional 10 serial numbered Prizms. The base set is a whopping 440 cards.
Boxes are online, but be prepared to pay over $1,400 per Hobby edition.

2022 Topps Series 2 Baseball
Arriving about 3 1/2 months after Series 1, Topps Series 2 will again come in two Hobby configurations: Each standard Hobby Box contains one autograph or relic card. Each HTA Jumbo Box contains one autograph and two relic cards.
Hobby boxes have 24 packs plus one additional Silver Pack. Packs carry 14 cards. Jumbos carry ten packs of 46 cards with two Silver packs.
The base set follows up on Series one with 330 new cards (#331-660).
Standard Hobby boxes are available on eBay for around $125 with Jumbos over $200.
2021-22 Panini Noir Basketball
The higher end Noir release offers a single ten-card pack per box. Each will have four autographs, three base or base parallels and three memorabilia cards. All autographs are on-card.
Metal Framed inserts include Base and Rookie Metal Frame Statement Edition, Vintage Art, Feature Length, Split Screen, and brand new SLAM! Kicks.

2022 Panini Absolute Baseball
Panini utilizes its MLBPA license to push out its long running Absolute brand for baseball. It’s a colorful product with a decent supply of relics and autographs to go around.
An average box will have two ten-card packs. Boxes should yield two autographs, two relics and one numbered insert among the 20 cards.
Boxes are currently priced at a fairly modest $150 or so on eBay.
Also set for release: 2022 Topps MLS (6/1); 2022 UEFA Champions League Chrome (6/3); 2021-22 Panini Obsidian Soccer (6/15); 2022 Pro Set Power Basketball (6/17); Wild Card Alumination NIL (6/10).
