As the NBA playoffs heat up, some new basketball card releases will be hitting the market. Several NBA products are scheduled to arrive over the next couple of weeks, along with a familiar baseball line.
Here’s a look at what’s on the docket.

2022-23 Donruss Optic Basketball
The shiny version of the Donruss flagship release, Optic boxes will have 20 packs with four cards in each. A typical box will have an autograph and a mix of 20 inserts and parallels.
Look for on-card autographs of rookies in Rated Rookies Signatures.
Also releasing on 5/10: 2023 Panini Prizm UFC Undercard

2022-23 Bowman University Inception
Meet the product that will offer the first pack placed autograph cards of incoming super prospect Victor Wembanyama. According to the checklist, he won’t have a base card, but has signed an unknown number of cards for Bowman U Inception.
It’s a multi-sport product with both male and female athletes so you’ll see autographs from women’s hoops star Caitlin Clark of Iowa. She will also have a card in the base set.
Each box contains 7 cards including two autos or auto relics and one base card parallel.
Expect boxes to run about $200.
2022-23 Panini Crown Royale Basketball
Crown Royale box breaks don’t take long. Each box carries one eight-card pack highlighted by an auto, memorabilia card and two inserts or parallels. The die-cut designs are what set this brand apart.
Rookie Silhouettes autographs are among the big hits in these boxes, which check in at $350-$400.

2021-22 Panini Flawless Basketball
The long delayed release of 2021-22 Flawless is finally (it seems) upon us. The high-end brand that comes packed in a briefcase will again offer a single pack with nine autograph/memorabilia cards and one base card that’s numbered to 20 or less. All memorabilia cards in 2021-22 Flawless will be game-used and it comes with its usual five-figure price tag.
Also releasing 5/19: 2023 Leaf Art of Hockey
5/24
2022-23 Panini Recon Basketball
Recon offers ten packs with six cards per pack. Look for 2 autographs, and 20 inserts or parallels per box.
All autographs in Recon are numbered to 149 or less.
Boxes should run $250-$275.

5/25
2022-23 Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey
Trilogy Hockey boxes will have six packs with four cards per pack.
Box content should break down like this:
- 1 Autograph card
- 1 Memorabilia card
- 1 Plexi low-numbered parallel numbered to 99 or less; 1 Rookie Year Photo Variant or Rookie Triptychs card
- 3 Rookie Renditions and/or Trilogy Generations cards
- 3 Numbered parallels
- 3 Numbered base set rookie cards
Boxes should land in the $125-$150 range.
