No matter your favorite sport, the last couple of weeks of February will offer something new to rip. The first baseball cards of 2024, some new basketball, soccer and F1 and a 2023 football release are all currently on the calendar, which, of course, is always subject to late changes.

2024 Topps Series 1
If you were around before there were two dozen or more products for every sport, ever year, you can’t imaging how giddy the baseball card community was at this time every year. When Topps was giving us only a few products a year–and usually only one for the other sports–it was magical. Times have changed and some of that is long gone, but the first current year branded cards mean pitchers and catchers report to spring training and the season isn’t far off, so there’s still that.
Fanatics has put some fresh paint on the Topps flagship release since taking over, but the nuts and bolts are still the same. For more details you can check out our preview and also get a look at some of the cards that have already been listed for sale.

2022-23 (and 2021-22) Upper Deck Clear Cut Hockey
It’s 2023-24 but the ’22-23 Clear Cut boxes combine ’21-22 and ’22-23. Got that?
The regular ’21-22 product never made it to market so it’s been melded into a two-season product. Each box contains either a 2021-22 or a 2022-23 Clear Cut autograph card – sealed in a one-touch – or a redemption for an autograph card from one of the two seasons.
All redemption cards are accompanied by a bonus Canvas Rookie Debuts card, also sealed in a one-touch.
Boxes are on eBay for a little over $100.

2023 Topps Chrome F1
The newest Topps Chrome is the 2023 Formula One issue that comes with a 200-card base set featuring F1 Drivers, Cars, and F2 Future Stars.
Autographs include top F1 and F2 drivers.
Key inserts include Speed Demons, F1 Armour, and Futuro.
Boxes have 20 packs of four cards and are running $260-$290.
2023-24 Panini Court Kings Basketball (Update: Now delayed until 2/28)
Rookie cards in Court Kings have four different versions, with IV being the rarest.
New this year is the Debut Showcase Memorabilia insert with parallels #’dto 25 or less
Boxes have ten cards, all in a single pack. Each one typically offers one auto, one memorabilia card, one rookie, one parallel, two inserts and four base cards.
Boxes are online for around $260.

2023 Topps Five Star Baseball
A week after its first ’24 product arrives, Topps hops back to last season for 2023 Five Star, a product decidedly different than the flagship brand.
Boxes contain a single two-card pack with no base cards or inserts. Inside are two autos, one of which could be a cut signature.
Five Star Autograph Jumbo Prime Cards feature on-card autographs of the game’s greats, with game-worn uniform pieces, numbered to 25 or less.

2023-24 Panini Prizm Basketball
Hobby boxes of one of the hobby’s most popular products arrive with the usual 12 packs of 12 cards in a box.
Look for two autographs, 22 Prizms, and ten inserts per box, on average. Autographs are exclusive to Hobby boxes and come from a few subsets including Signatures, Rookie Signatures, Sensational Signatures and the new Franchise Favorites Signatures. New Red, Blue and Snakeskin parallels are possible.
Online pricing has 2023-24 Prizm Hobby boxes at $900 and up.

2023 Panini Impeccable Football
A high-end release, boxes of 2023 Panini Impeccable Football hold a single eight-card pack, including five or six autographs.
On-card autographs are the norm here in subsets such as Elegance Veteran Patch Autographs, Extravagance Patch Autographs, Impeccable Jersey Number Autographs, Stars of the Hall and Immortal Ink.
Impeccable’s Silver and Gold piece cards in NFL, Hall of Fame, Pro Bowl and USA Flag versions will fall one per case.
