Collectors will have plenty of them as the holiday season gets underway with numerous products across a variety of sports set for release.
Here’s a listing of what’s on the docket from November 2- through December 10.
November 27
Topps Transcendent Baseball: You’ll need to be committed to tackle Transcendent. Back for another year, the hobby’s costliest product delivers a boatload of signed and low-serial numbered cards along with a chance to meet Ken Griffey Jr. Only 100 boxes were made with a retail cost of around $25,000. You can check out some of the cards from this brand that are up for sale on eBay here.
2019-20 Upper Deck Black Diamond Hockey: The first high-end hockey product of the year, Black Diamond delivers one hit-filled pack along with a single card Exquisite hockey pack for about $225 per box.
2019-20 Topps NHL Stickers: Topps hockey? Yup. Upper Deck has the trading card license but the NHL and NHLPA are turning stickers over to Topps. The inaugural edition will have 50 packs with five stickers per box.
2019 UFC Museum: Look for two autographed relic cards or on-card autographs along with one straight relic card in each Museum box (about $85 on eBay).
November 29
2019 Panini Absolute Memorabilia Basketball: Absolute makes its return with each box of two packs promising two autos and two relic cards. Ongoing interest in this year’s NBA rookie class has boxes sitting at around $150 per box.
December 2
2019 Panini Rookies and Stars Football: A long-running, lower cost brand, Rookies & Stars offers six packs of ten cards with two autos, two memorabilia cards, five numbered parallels and a bunch of inserts. Box prices are sitting between $125 and $150 online.
December 4
2019 Bowman Draft: Popular with prospectors, Draft brings cards of this year’s MLB draftees and comes in two forms: Jumbo boxes contain 12 packs of 32 cards including three on-card chrome autographs. Super Jumbo will include five two-pocket packs of 120 cards with five autographs per box.
Each pack of Jumbo contains 23 base cards plus seven Chrome base cards and two Chrome base Refractor parallels with an auto in every four packs. The Super Jumbo packs will have 78 base cards, 33 Chrome base cards, eight Refractor parallels and a guarantee of one signed card.
2019 Panini Obsidian Football: The granite look is back with Obsidian, which packs a single seven-card pack per box. Look for four hits in each at a box price of $165-$185.
2019-20 Prizm NBA Basketball: The collegiate version was released earlier this fall but the NBA edition will likely be one of the year’s hottest basketball products. Hobby boxes will have 12 packs with 12 cards in each. On average, boxes will yield two autographs and 12 Prizm parallels. There’s also a retail version with special Pink Plusar Prizms. 2019-20 Donruss Basketball: Donruss offers one autograph and one memorabilia card per box in addition to 60 inserts and parallels. There are ten packs per box with 30 cards in each with online retailers generally in the $210-$225 range.
