About 1,500 collectors turned out for the first ever Northeast Sports Card Expo at the Marriott Boston Quincy Hotel last weekend.
There were more than 150 vendor tables at the one-day show. Autograph guests included Jim Lonborg, Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell and Dana Barros. Boston Red Sox pitcher and Boston area native Rich Hill stopped by as an attendee.

The next Expo is scheduled for March 18-19, 2023 as it expands to a two-day event.

Mike Trout jumped into collecting cards awhile back, with an eye on building a collection for his son Beckham.
He recently signed some of his earliest cards and chatted about them with PSA PSA, which created an exclusive “pedigree” for his collection:

Not many rookies have had as many big moments in the playoffs as Cleveland’s Oscar Gonzalez has this year and collectors and fans have been jumping on the 24-year-old rookie’s cards.
Sales of Gonzalez cards and other items increased nearly 1,400 percent between October 13 and 15.
Another popular player on the platform is Yankees pitcher Luis Severino. Sales of his collectibles increased more than 320% from October 12-14.

It’s going to be awhile before we see it, but it sure sounds like there’s going to be a movie centered around high-end card collecting that stars Adam Sandler.
That’s according to Deadlline, which says the project may start shooting in the second quarter of 2023.
