Jack Donovan not only knows pretty much everything about White Sox history; he’s got most of it in his house.
He’s a Chicagoan who makes no bones about which team owns his loyalty.
Jack Donovan grew up in the 1950s watching games at the old Comiskey Park. Along the way, he’s kept track of the team’s history by putting scrapbooks together that include not just news clippings but photos and autographs.
He’s sold some to one big league executive and donated others to the Hall of Fame but he still has dozens left.
His photos have even led to a side business.
Long retired at age 74, Donovan has the luxury of time on his hands and his hobby keeps him busy.
"You’ve got to have a passion to move you," Donovan said of his collection. "It gets me up off my ass."
The Southtown Star has the scoop.
