Changing with the times has been a successful formula for one sports card shop owner who has been dealing for 22 years.
Wendell Branch developed a passion for baseball while growing up in Rhode Island during the early 1950s. Like most of his friends back then, he was a baseball card collector.
Cards weren’t worth much more than the paper they were printed on back then and treasured cards like Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle wound up "well loved" and on the top of a rubber-banded stack.
At age 69, Bryant is still involved in the hobby. In fact, since the 1980s, he’s been running The Batters Box in Greenville, South Carolina.
"People collect in different ways now, and I see all kinds of collectors walk through my door,” Branch said.
