Robert Edward Auctions is preparing its 2012 catalog, and unveiling a few items that collectors can expect to find in the phone book sized book when it hits doorsteps in April.
Among the high end pieces that will be up for grabs are a 1916 Babe Ruth rookie card, the Babe’s last will and testament and a bat that dates from the 1923-25 period. REA raises the possibility that it’s the bat he used to hit the first home run in Yankee Stadium history.
While another bat sold seven years ago, signed by Ruth, was touted as the one he used to christen the park, REA lays out some evidence that the one it’s offering should at least be considered for that honor.
The company highlights photographs taken that day, factor records and other factors. Read about it here.
