Violence against police officers happens everywhere…even in New Hampshire where a card show promoting team is gearing their next event to help one victim’s family.
Bill Harless and Ken Kelley hold card shows every month but this Sunday’s event will be a little more special than most. Manchester, New Hampshire police officer Michael Briggs was shot and killed in the line of duty in October. The news stunned a normally quiet part of the country, but rather than sit idly by, the two promoters who live nearby got busy.
They’ve lined up some autograph guests and are hoping a big turnout and auction will raise money for the officer’s wife and two young sons.
"You always believe in law enforcement, and you know what they do is dangerous, but you hope something like this never happens," said Harless, a Newmarket resident. "It’s been an eye opener for the entire community."
