They haven’t played a minute of a game yet. In fact, we won’t know who they’ll be playing for until later this month. They’re the great unknowns in a year of unknowns.
It’s fun to speculate, though, and the newest MeiGray auction is giving basketball collectors the chance to prospect on members of the 2020 NBA Draft class. Shoes used in college and high school games or overseas competition by 11 potential picks are up for bids, through a partnership with Game Used Tone.

While last year’s loaded class had headliners like Zion Wiliamson, Ja Morant and RJ Barrett, among others, this year’s delayed selection process is full of unknowns. There isn’t much question, though, that at least a few stars will emerge in time.
Among the lots in the auction are shoes donned by Deni Avdija, the 19-year-old Israeli-Serbian star who is expected to be among the first five players picked in the November 18 draft.

Others worn in competition by Nico Mannion, Markus Howard, R. J. Hampton, Cassius Stanley, Jalen Smith are among the lots on the block through November 24. There are two pairs in separate lots for several players. Some have been photo-matched to certain games.
The auction is being conducted through MeiGray’s recently launched shoes platform, created in conjunction with long time dealer/collector Tone Stokes.
Each pair of shoes includes an MGG Game-Used Shoes letter of authenticity.
The minimum bid for each pair is $250.
