The San Jose Sharks are offering game-worn jerseys and game-used gear to fans this Saturday…but they’re also warning fans not to re-sell what they buy.
Sharks fans have their chance to acquire one-of-a-kind Sharks memorabilia on Saturday, June 26 from 9 a.m. – Noon as the team conducts its annual Equipment Sale at Sharks Ice at San Jose (1500 S. Tenth St.).
Among the items being sold:
* Game-worn jerseys
* Practice jerseys and socks
* Pro-stock hockey sticks
* Protective equipment
* Hockey skates (in varying degrees of use)
* Team-issued merchandise and apparel
* Game-used and autographed memorabilia
* Goalie Equipment
The Sharks are warning would-be entrepreneurs to stay away, though. A post on the team’s website states:
“Items purchased are strictly for personal use and/or collection. Further, any items purchased at this sale are done so under the agreement that they are not to be re-sold to collectors or other, outside parties. The Sharks on-site staff reserves the right to refuse entry and/or rescind purchasing privileges at their discretion.”
There is no indication on exactly how the team plans to prohibit the sale of the jerseys once they’re purchased from the team.
The Sharks say their annual equipment sale is intended as a way to “show our appreciation for fans that support the Sharks on a day-to-day basis”.
They won’t sell items over the phone, internet or by mail.
