It won’t come as a surprise to most at this point, but the fall edition of the Philly Show has been cancelled. The second show of the tri-annual series had been scheduled for September 25-27 at the Valley Forge Casino Resort. Dealers were notified of the move last week.
As of now, indoor gatherings of 25 or more remain prohibited in Pennsylvania and anyone visiting from states where COVID cases are high is being asked to voluntarily self-quarantine for 14 days once they arrive.
The state’s Department of Health says it is seeing significant increases in the number of COVID-19 cases among younger age groups.
One of the hobby’s larger events, the next Philly Show is scheduled for December 4-6. Promoter Joe Drelich says he’s still holding out hope that it’ll be possible to keep that one on the calendar.
The National Sports Collectors Convention had been scheduled to open this week in Atlantic City, but was postponed in May and rescheduled for December 12-16, just a week after the Philly Show.
