With all due respect to The Rock, Miami Dolphins, wide receiver Tyreek Hill is quite possibly the most electrifying man in sports (and) entertainment. That’s really saying something with the amount of incredible talent across the league (and sports).
Selected in the fifth round by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft, “The Cheetah” began his career as a return specialist but quickly became the team’s top wide receiver when his speed and overall talent was too much to keep off the field. The fastest man in football has been a Pro Bowler in each of his seven seasons in the league.
Teaming up with Patrick Mahomes,Travis Kelce and company, Hill became a Super Bowl champion at Super Bowl LV with the Chiefs and was a part of one of the most potent and productive offenses in NFL history. In March of 2022, he was traded to the Miami Dolphins for multiple draft picks.
The speedster will pass the 600 career reception total early this year and should blow by 9,000 yards receiving and could approach 90 career receiving touchdowns by the time the final whistle blows. Hill has said in the lead up to this coming NFL season that he was going to surpass 2,000 yards receiving. If that’s the case, you can expect his cards to catch fire.
In our newest Better Than a Box, we will give you four lightning fast Hill hits you can own for about the same price as a box of 2023 Panini Legacy Football.
Legacy hits the field at right around $175 per box. It’s been a fun produce to rip in years past. This season, it offers two autographs per box along with four Opti-Chrome cards, two mini Opti-Chrome cards and eight inserts per box. You will find four parallels and 24 rookies (in college uniforms) per box. Boxes break down with 12, eight card packs per box.
The Rookie Card
The rookie card of choice in our lightning fast lot is a 2016 Panini Donruss Optic Tyreek Hill base rookie card graded by PSA in gem mint 10 form. This was the first year of the now ultra popular Optic version of Donruss, which is in the same vein as the Chrome version of Topps and Bowman cards. Collectors love souped up versions of paper cards. The future superstar is seen in his practice gear catching the ball, most likely ready to return a kick or a punt to the house. The design of the card is done with a team color match concept and a sleek, clean design. The all-important (and now old version) RC logo is found in the upper left-hand corner. This is a great way to kick off our collection, coming in at right around $75-$90.
The Autographed Card
We travel to Miami for the Hill autographed card (we wish, anyway). We snag a beautiful jersey auto of Hill donning his dope Dolphins drip. We go to 2022 Select and find a nice large teal piece of material with a Hill signature in sticker form. The shiny and busy Select design compliments Hill’s fast twitch domination on the gridiron. For $55 all in, this is a nice reception for the collection.
The Jersey Card
We team up and select the new Zenith Team Summit card for the jersey card slot. We definitely get bang for our buck here as we pick up a Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce triple jersey for our collection. This team ascended to the top of the NFL mountain, and that’s depicted on the backdrop of the card as the players are climbing a mountain top high above the competition. To get a triple jersey of this iconic trio for 65 bucks is an easy (an somewhat unique) choice for the collection.
The Serial Numbered Card
For our final act, we head back to South Beach for the sun, sand, clubs and this photogenic 2022 Panini Chronicles card. We select the numbered of 25 black parallel of this truly photogenic card. Hill is seen just bringing the ball in thigh high to a Detroit defender in this beautifully, rich, crisp, stunning card. The photogenic set has been really well received by collectors and this is a perfect example. For no more than 6 bucks, this is a nice, low numbered way to round out our lot.
So there you have it, you can show some low end Legacy love or you can get some certified long term heat from the fastest man in the game.
As always, the choice is yours.
