A rare autographed baseball from the 1920s Yankee dynasty was on the block this week and drawing a lot of interest. When the eBay clock struck zero this three signature ball was at over $38,000– not enough to meet the reserve price.
After seeing perhaps the best example of a combination autographed Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig baseball sell for $85,000 at a Robert Edward auction in April, another seller trotted out another piece of signed Yankees history.
This ball is signed by not only Ruth and Gehrig but also by ’27 Yankees manager Miller Huggins. Apparently kept in a box, the original American League ball is generating much interest on eBay.
But the same seller had more than one Ruth ball.
