Fox Sports caught many by surprise a few months ago when they hired Pete Rose to do pregame and postgame analysis. The gig went well but Rose wasn’t in New York for Games 4, 5 and 6. He’d already committed to sign autographs.
Rose was at the Fanatics Authentic show in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon and from there it was off to Las Vegas for his regular signing sessions that will last for the next several days.

“We knew at the time Pete agreed to join us that he had prior commitments to multiple events made over a year ago, and it was his desire to honor those commitments,” Fox officials told CBS.
Those obligations also included a dinner and speech, according to Rose, who says he didn’t realize his schedule was so booked when he agreed to appear for Fox. He told the Associated Press “they were kind of disappointed I wasn’t there, and to be honest I was disappointed, too. But I’m the kind of guy who lives up to my contracts. You’ve got to honor your obligations.”
The New York Daily News says Rose’s Fox contract was set to expire Sunday and the network offered him an extra $10,000 to hang around for a few more days but Rose earned more from the autograph signings.
