Have a hole in your set collection? More than 50 complete and near-complete vintage sets are on the block in Robert Edward Auctions’ June Encore event.
Top-ranked sets, ranging from a 1950 Bowman Baseball complete set currently #10 on the PSA Set Registry with a 6.74 GPA to complete sets of 1960, ‘61, ‘63, ‘64 and ‘65 Topps Baseball, each of which boasts at least an 8.0 GPA, are among them. There’s also a 1960 Fleer Football complete set in 12 uncut strips.
The 3,300 lot auction also includes nearly two dozen Babe Ruth items. A 1921 Exhibits Ruth PSA VG+ 3.5 and a 1934 R309-1 Goudey Premium SGC FAIR 1.5 are up for bid along with seven different 1933 Goudey examples.
Fittingly, Thursday marks 76 years since Ruth made his final appearance at Yankee Stadium where the team retired his iconic number 3.
M116 Sporting Life
The event includes more than 170 examples from the classic 1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life series, almost all of which grade Near Mint or better by PSA, including 80 PSA NM-MT 8s and nine PSA MINT 9s. Three of the cornerstone players featured within the set are up for bid, including Honus Wagner (blue background), Eddie Plank, and Christy Mathewson (pastel background), the latter two of which are each available in PSA EX-MT 6s.
