The number one rated set of World Series tickets on the PSA Set Registry joins Ricky Williams’ 1998 Heisman Trophy, Doak Walker and Walter Camp awards among the marquee lots in Heritage Auctions’ October Platinum Night Auction. In all, more than 1,200 lots are in the auction, set to close over two nights, October 17 and 18.
As we reported this summer, Williams’ Heisman is expected to sell for $500,000 or more while the former Texas Longhorns star’s Camp and Walker awards should fetch at least $20,000. Other awards and items from his career are also in the sale.
The collection of World Series tickets includes one example from each year, running from 1909-2018, a group of 110 in all. Many of which are the highest graded examples in existence. Offered as one lot, they’re expected to sell for $50,000 or more.
Numerous World Series, Super Bowl and other championship rings are included in the catalog. Dallas Cowboys’ founder and owner William Hawn’s Super Bowl VI ring is among the highlights along with a Super Bowl XL ring from Pittsburgh Steelers safety Tyrone Carter. World Series rings include those from the 1990 Cincinnati Reds, 2009 New York Yankees and 2013 Boston Red Sox.
Autograph collectors will find rare and high-grade single signed baseballs from the likes of Christy Mathewson, Mel Ott and Jimmie Foxx, and a signed complete set of 1959 Fleer Ted Williams cards.
Early boxing collectors will see a selection of relics from Ring Magazine founder Nat Fleischer’s collection of gloves and punching bags used by John L. Sullivan, Jim Corbett, Jack Johnson and Jack Dempsey.
