It may have been the first time a top NFL draft pick signed autographs on memorabilia representing a team that hadn’t even drafted him yet. Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III entered into a deal several months ago to sign at the Show at Chantilly this past weekend. Little did promoters know how well that would work out.
Chantilly is Redskins’ country and after Washington swung a deal with St. Louis to acquire the number two overall pick, it turned into his first big local autograph session.
Prices ranged from $100 for a small flat up to $150 for larger items. An inscription was $40 more and a ‘photo op’ was $100.
