Next week, you can add at least one baseball card case breaker to the list of 24-hour businesses. St. Louis-based Restlesscraft Breakers will be breaking cases of 2021 Topps Series 1 Jumbo and Hobby cards for a non-stop 24-hour period starting at approximately 8 PM Central, Tuesday, Feb. 9.
The event will be broadcast live on YouTube, beginning at the end of the Topps Series 1 Rip Party being live-streamed via Topps social media channels.
They’ll be holding trivia contests and prize giveaways throughout the period. Twenty-four cases will be broken in all.
Collectors will be able to participate by buying into the rip party breaks via Restlesscraft Breakers’ Facebook and eBay pages. Twelve Jumbo cases are being sold via team spots on eBay and the other dozen of hobby and jumbo cases will be available for purchase via Facebook.
“Doing a 24-hour break will be exciting, exhausting, and has the potential for some greatness from the packs — all of the things that opening a whole lot of baseball cards is all about,” remarked Dune Trull, Restlesscraft Breakers’ co-owner.
Topps Series 1 will include 25 randomly inserted “Platinum Tickets,” containing an invitation for a collector and one guest to a celebration of 70 Years of Topps Baseball featuring athlete meet-and-greats and exclusive items to be held at a later date.
