One of the most significant hockey card scores in case break history is hitting the auction block later this spring.
In their Spring Classic Auction this June, Lelands will offer a PSA 9 Connor McDavid rookie autographed patch card that was pulled this past December from a Jaspy’s break of 2015-16 The Cup Hockey.
While all McDavid The Cup RPAs are valuable, this one is numbered 97/99—matching McDavid’s jersey number. Jersey number matches are considered extremely desirable and the McDavid card was considered a dream card to many collectors of modern era hockey cards.
OH MY GOD! We just hit the @cmcdavid97 RPA 97/99 from @UpperDeckSports @UpperDeckHockey Cup Hockey! https://t.co/ayPzXWky6X and live at our shop: 1402 PCH Hermosa Beach CA 90254

While the card is reaching the open market for the first time and an estimated value might be difficult to calculate. The pre-sale estimate from Lelands is $20,000 to $30,000 but some collectors who responded to the news of the break last December believe it could top six figures.
The card comes with the original tin box it was pulled from, and the Jaspy’s breaker who was conducting the break at the time the card was pulled has signed the box.
The auction will open later this spring and is scheduled to close June 19 at Lelands.com.
The company’s spring “Pop Up Auction” consisting of lower priced items is currently underway.
