Cincinnati Reds season ticket holders got a little dose of the baseball card hobby when their season tickets arrived this month.
The team’s ticket design focuses on classic Reds cards through the years, with players who made their mark on the team in one way or another being honored with their Topps card on the face.
The images include Chuck Harmon’s 1954 card, which adorns the ticket that will be used as the Reds play in the Civil Rights Game at Great American Ballpark on May 15. Harmon was the Reds’ first African-American player.
One ticket shows off Ted Kluzewski’s 1957 Topps card, another the ’59 Frank Robinson (his MVP season) and another shows off the ’77 Topps Johnny Bench. Modern era Reds are featured as well, with the ‘card’ usually associated with that particular player’s greatest season or specific accomplishment.
