Fresh off a 540-card online-only auction dedicated exclusively to T206 cards which grossed $764,512, Robert Edward Auctions has announced the development of Encore Auctions by REA. The new series of short-term auctions will present buyers and sellers with more regular opportunities to bid and consign in addition to the company’s trio of Premier catalog auctions held each year.
The Encore Auctions will be held in non-catalog months and will be ten-day, online-only auctions dedicated to encapsulated and authenticated items. REA calls them “the perfect platform for set breaks along with cards, packs, and autographs that may not normally be presented individually in an REA catalog or cannot wait until the catalog auctions come around.”
Items in the online auctions will encompass a wide value range and will allow consignors to bring items to market more quickly. REA says it is accepting consignments of $1,000 in value including graded cards and packs, authenticated unopened boxes and professionally authenticated autographs.
The first Encore Auction will run from February 11 to February 21.
Catalog consignments are being accepted for the next month, with the deadline for autographs and memorabilia February 8.
