It may not fall under the "classic" label, but the 1983 Fleer set is providing some fun–and aggravation– for one determined collector who’s trying to get the whole thing autographed. Anyone know how to get ahold of Omar Moreno?
How long can it take to get a baseball card complete set signed? Even one that’s barely 25 years old?
More than two years.
We know that because Scott Mortimer of New Hampshire has been trying to do it. He’s not the first to chase full sets in signed form. Plenty of other collectors have undertaken the monumental task on a variety of different sets, many of them of a much older vintage.
But…it’s always admirable and not as easy as you might think. Mortimer has a good start, but he’s having a tough time tracking down some players–many of whom have returned to their native Latin America and aren’t exactly regulars on the baseball card show circuit.
Big League Stew has an update on the quest.
