PSA will give away a 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card and signed items from two other local sports icons at this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago. PSA will also have high-grade master card collections focusing on Jordan, Walter Payton and Ernie Banks on display and offer special rates for items submitted at the show for authentication and grading.
The Fleer rookie is the cream of the crop when it comes to Michael Jordan cards from his playing days. This one is graded PSA 9 and carries a current value of over $2,600. It will be given away on Saturday, August 1.
An Ernie Banks autographed bat will be handed out through the company’s drawing on Thursday, July 30 and a Walter Payton autographed poster on July 31.
Visitors to the PSA booth (Hall B, #1436) can register for the sweepstakes. There is no cost to enter, and the winners do not need to be present at the time of the drawings.
The 2015 will be held July 29 – August 2 in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont.
Visitors can also obtain a free copy of an expanded, special “National” edition of Sports Market Report (SMR) magazine/price guide that features Jordan on the cover.
PSA will be providing onsite authentication and grading of cards during the show and PSA/DNA will also accept submissions of autographs. Certification fees will be as low as $16 per item for bulk submissions of cards. PSA/DNA will be offering authentication for items signed by athletes at the National for a discounted rate of $10 per signature.
