PSA and the National Sports Collectors Convention are launching a new weekly national broadcast on the PSA website starting November 2. The Great American Collectibles Show will air every Wednesday evening from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST.
Hosted by Red Sox Hall of Famer Rico Petrocelli, New England talk show host and author Tom Zappala, and produced by XM Sirius Sports radio personality Lou Blasi, the show will feature a rotating list of guest co-hosts and hobby experts from around the country.
The show will highlight a weekly segment called “Checking in with Joe,” an update from PSA President Joe Orlando about what is going on in the hobby. Throughout the show, listeners will be able to text or tweet questions on specific cards, autographs or sports memorabilia to the hobby expert co-hosting that week.
The Great American Collectibles Show will also feature private collectors and celebrities talking about and answering questions on their collections. Listeners can hear the show live on PSAcard.com every Wednesday evening or listen to the podcast which will be available for the entire week until the next show airs.

A sports icon in Boston, Petrocelli defined the position of a “power-hitting” shortstop in his 13 years with the Red Sox. In 1969 he was the first shortstop to hit 40 home runs in a season, a record that stood until broken by Alex Rodriguez in 1998. Petrocelli has worked as manager, coach and TV analyst for the Pawtucket Red Sox and as a radio/television analyst for the Boston Red Sox and the Seattle Mariners as well as hosting a weekly sports talk show on Boston’s 1510AM “The Zone.” In addition to co-hosting The Great American Collectibles Show, Petrocelli co-hosts the popular Sirius MLB Radio show Remember When with Ed Randall of New York’s WFAN.

A businessman in the greater Boston area, Zappala is co-author of the award-winning books, The T206 Collection: The Players & Their Stories, The Cracker Jack Collection: Baseball’s Prized Players and the August 2016 release, The 100 Greatest Baseball Autographs. Zappala co-hosts a popular talk radio show which broadcasts in northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. As co-owner of ATS Communications of MA, a multimedia and consulting company, he handles publicity and personal appearances for several authors and a variety of artists in the entertainment field. Zappala enjoys collecting vintage baseball and boxing memorabilia.
