Pitney Bowes Inc. has launched pbSmartPostage, the industry’s first mailing and shipping service that uses cloud technology to enable businesses to apply postage directly from any PC with an Internet connection.
The company says businesses with smaller volume shipping needs and remote locations will benefit from this flexible mailing and shipping solution.

pbSmartPostage enables businesses of all sizes to print postage and shipping labels from any PC, without the inconvenience of software downloads. The concept offers a llevel of flexibility for occasional mailers and shippers not available before along with significant cost savings from the ability to access shipping discounts of up to 10%. With analytics and reporting capability, customers can track and control their entire postage expenditures.
The Internet Postage market has expanded to nearly 600,000 customers and the new concept is aimed at helping customers simplify shipping with the capability of printing a stamp, address label and tracking number in one step from any location using any PC with an Internet connection. There is no downloading of software unlike online postage services offered by other companies.
