Jeff Thalblum turned a hobby into a business.
He grew up in New York loving baseball and baseball cards.
In the 1970s, he moved about as far from Shea Stadium as you possibly can. But a relocation to the Phoenix area didn’t stop Jeff Thalblum from collecting autographs.
Now that the area has its own Major League team, it’s baseball heaven again for a guy who turned his childhood hobby into a full-time job.
He was among the first to bring autograph guests to shows in the Southwest, discovering the demand for autographs was almost insatiable.
But in the sports memorabilia business, there’s no resting on laurels. The job requires a lot of marketing–but it’s not a bad way to make a living.
