Two players whose autograph has been elusive for collectors will satisfy some of that demand this week.
New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony will visit Steiner Sports on Monday, participating in his first private signing session in several years. In addition, Steiner is also doing a rare private signing with Hall of Fame center Patrick Ewing.
Catching either player in public to score an autograph hasn’t been much of an option for autograph collectors and neither has been in a hurry to do a lot of private signings.
Anthony signed with Steiner Sports during his rookie year with the Denver Nuggets several years ago but hasn’t signed an autograph deal since and few of his items are in the marketplace. There were no Anthony autographs in 2012-13 basketball card products produced by Panini.
Ewing is a notoriously tough signer but Steiner will offer a pre-order $99 special on 8×10 photos. Ewing was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.
Each item purchased will come with a Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity and accompanying hologram.
