There are a couple of tweaks to 2020 Panini Limited Football, particularly in its design. The changes are not major, but some of the elements have been shuffled around.
Collectors will notice that the Limited logo, for example, will be under that player’s name in the 100-card base set, rather than the upper left-hand corner, where it was in 2019. Also, the small team logo flips from the upper right to the upper left side of the card front.
The card stock will be thick, and every hobby box will contain three packs, with five cards per pack. Panini is promising one rookie patch card autograph or Ring of Honor Autograph per hobby box. There also will be an additional autograph card, a memorabilia card, and one parallel.
The base set will also have several parallels. Silver Spotlight will be numbered to 149, with Gold Spotlight (75), Ruby Spotlight (49), Amethyst Spotlight (15), Emerald Spotlight (5) and Sapphire Spotlight (1/1) rounding out the parallels. There also will be 1/1 Printing Plates.
Rookie Patch Autographs includes on-card signatures and are numbered to 299 or less. The cards will feature the top players from the 2020 NFL draft class. Parallels will include Silver Spotlight, numbered to 149. Other parallels will feature with Gold Spotlight (75), Ruby Spotlight (49), Amethyst Spotlight (15), Emerald Spotlight (5) and Sapphire Spotlight (1/1). There also will be 1/1 Printing Plates.
The Rookie Patch Autograph cards also have variations, which are numbered to 199 or less and have jumbo-sized jersey swatches. The parallels are slightly different, with Silver Spotlight numbered to 75, followed by Gold Spotlight (25), Ruby Spotlight (15), Amethyst Spotlight (10), Emerald Spotlight (5) and Sapphire Spotlight (1/1). Printing plates are also 1/1 cards.
Ring of Honor Autographs cards are numbered to 99 or less. These cards showcase hard-signed cards of some the NFL’s greats. The parallel numbered cards are lower for this subset, with Silver Spotlight (49), Gold Spotlight (25), Ruby Spotlight (15), Amethyst Spotlight (10), Emerald Spotlight (5) and Sapphire Spotlight (1/1). Printing plates — 1/1 cards— are also in the mix.
Focusing on the 2020 NFL draft class, Rookie Autographs will feature 60 first-year players, with cards numbered to 199 or less. Silver Spotlight parallels are numbered to 199, with Gold Spotlight (25), Ruby Spotlight (10), Emerald Spotlight (5) and Sapphire Spotlight (1/1).
An old staple for Limited Football, called Limited Membership, returns with an 18-card autography insert set that is numbered to 99 or less. Parallels include Ruby Spotlight (numbered to 25), Emerald Spotlight (50) and Sapphire Spotlight (1/1).
Rookie Phenoms, as the name implies, will feature top players from the 2020 NFL draft on cards bearing oversized swatches. These cards will be numbered to 199 or less. Silver Spotlight parallels will be numbered to 49, with Gold Spotlight (25), Ruby Spotlight (10) and Sapphire Spotlight (1/1).
Making its debut for the 2020 set, the Draft Day Signatures Booklet will feature draft day photos of famous picks throughout NFL history. A Sapphire Spotlight parallel will be a 1/1 card.
Another booklet collectors could find are Partnership Duals and Quad Signatures. The Partnership booklets will have two signatures, while the Quad Signature will contain four-player combination autographs. These cards will also have Sapphire Spotlight 1/1 parallels.
The release date for 2020 Panini Limited Football is currently set for February 3, the week of the Super Bowl. The SRP is $129.99 per hobby box.
