Panini America will create its first WNBA trading card set this summer. The NBA’s trading card partner will take over the WNBA’s license from Rittenhouse. 2019 Donruss WNBA will be the first product released under the new deal.
2019 Donruss WNBA Basics and Base Set
Each box of 2019 Donruss WNBA will carry four packs, with a whopping 30 cards inside each pack and 20 boxes per case.
On average, each box will contain two autographed cards and a large number of inserts and parallels.
There will be a 100-card base set that includes 88 current players and 12 Rated Rookies from the 2019 draft class including top pick Jackie Young. Each card in the 100-card base set features an Optic version with Holo, Gold (numbered to 10) and Gold Vinyl (numbered to 1) parallels.
Autographs
Panini is touting its first WNBA set as having “arguably the strongest auto checklist in WNBA history, spanning the past, present and future of the sport.” Signers include Breanna Stewart, Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore, Candace Parker, Sue Bird, Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Elena Delle Donne, Sheryl Swoopes, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Becky Hammon.
Signature Series cards will include several parallel versions.
There will also be buyback autographs from the original 1997 and 1998 Pinnacle WNBA releases randomly inserted.
Inserts
Look for seven different insert designs that highlight the WNBA’s top stars, including the league’s best shooters, stat leaders and favorite players for each franchise.
2019 Donruss WNBA is set for release June 26.
