Panini is wasting no time making use of its new collegiate trading card license.
The company has already released a multitude of school-specific products, announced plans for a 2015 Immaculate product and on Wednesday, promised 2015 Immaculate College, a multi-sport release featuring past players in their college uniforms.
Panini says boxes will consist of eight cards, six of which will be autograph or memorabilia cards. The other two will be base or parallel cards. Autographed memorabilia cards from the College Football Materials Signatures, College Basketball Materials Signatures and College Baseball Materials Signatures sets will be among the hits, with all numbered to 99 or less. Four versions will be 1/1.
Game-worn relic cards will include material from uniforms worn by Aaron Rodgers, Barry Sanders, Peyton Manning, Richard Sherman, Russell Westbrook and others. Where the material for those college gamers came from wasn’t revealed.
Rookie year cards will include Combo Player Signature Booklets featuring a booklet that combines an autograph with a jumbo memorabilia piece. Among the players known to be on the checklist are Karl-Anthony Towns, Alex Bregman and Jameis Winston.
Team Trios includes player-worn college uniform cards of three college stars from the same school. Prime versions will be numbered to 10.
Signature Die Cuts promises on card autographs of the top draft picks from the 2015 MLBPA, NBA and NFL drafts including Golden Spikes Award winner Andrew Benintendi, Naismith Player of the Year Frank Kaminsky and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota.
