Another brand name from the hobby’s past will return next month with when Panini introduces 2013-14 Pinnacle Basketball.
Jumbo and retail boxes are being produced with jumbos containing 10 30-card packs per box with two autographs and one memorabilia card and retail boxes holding 24 packs with one autograph or memorabilia card at a lower price point. Retail will offer exclusive Red and Blue Artist’s Proof parallels.
The company is bringing back some of the names collectors associated with Pinnacle as early as the 1990s with Team Pinnacle, Z-Team and Museum Collection inserts, but they’re also planning to include the staples of a just about every modern product: autographs, jersey cards and up to date printing technology.
Team Pinnacle and Z-Team will be produced using etched foil printing , Museum will get the Nufex treatment and Clear Vision, which debuted in 2013 Pinnacle Baseball, will expand to basketball. Clear Vision features parallels numbered to 36, 24, 12 and five (Clear Vision Overtime).
The base set will be 300 cards (40 rookies), with three autograph insert sets, two memorabilia insert sets and chase elements that include Big Bang, Jamfest, Artist Proof parallels and Scoring Kings.
Pinnacle of Success and Essence of the Game acetate cards will feature current and retired stars.
The 2013 Draft Class will be showcased in Upstart Jerseys and Upstart Prime Jerseys.
2013-14 Pinnacle Basketball is set for a mid-January release.
