Police in Pennsylvania say they’ve cracked a theft ring that began with a haul of baseball cards from a K-Mart and continued for months, netting thousands of dollars worth of items for a mom, her boyfriend and her son.
Officers say Christopher Frances Damaio, 39, Theresa Lynn Warner, 40, and her 17-year-old son stole more than $35,000 worth of collectibles and other items from 90 stores from New York to Pennsylvania. The trio was arrested recently and on Wednesday, police showed off an incredible haul of mostly small ticket items, including multiple factory sets of 2011 Topps products.
They weren’t planning on holding for the long haul. Police say they planned to re-sell the items.
Police also say they were excellent record keepers. In fact, part of the evidence is a spiral notebook, filled with detailed notes on everything they stole–when, where and what.
