The Baltimore Orioles Charitable Foundation got quite a windfall from the team’s game-worn and game-used memorabilia last year.
The club revealed this week that it sold $500,000 worth of jerseys, helmets, caps, baseballs, bases and other items via sales and auctions last year while it opened an auction for 2017 spring training jerseys worn last weekend.
The Foundation and Baltimore Orioles, Inc. support civic and charitable organizations in the team’s home region.
The orange jerseys up for bid feature the new 2017 design, which includes a Florida patch on the right sleeve and sublimated lettering and numbers on the back of the jerseys, featuring various Major League Baseball and Spring Training logos.
Among those on the auction block are jerseys donned by Manny Machado, Zach Britton, Chris Davis and manager Buck Showalter. The jerseys were authenticated earlier this month.
The auction continues through April 5.
