The Edmonton Oilers’ fan base extends far beyond the boundaries of Alberta.
Famous for their glory days of the 1980s when Wayne Gretzky and friends were patrolling the ice, the Oilers have a huge regional fan base in western Canada as the only game around.
Many fans and collectors showed up over the weekend when the team held its annual garage sale with everything from game-used gloves and sticks to banners up for sale.
Season ticket holders got a jump on the rest of the crowd, but attendance and sales were up according to the Edmonton Journal, which offers a story and pictures of what looks like a pretty impressive event.
