One hundred new New Orleans Pelicans team branded State of Louisiana license plates are now up for bid in a special benefit auction.
Earlier this year, the Pelicans obtained approval from the state to produce the first team plates in franchise history. The first 99 were turned over to MeiGray/NBA Auctions where each plate has its own dedicated bidding page.
Proceeds are going to the Gayle and Tom Benson Charitable Foundation, which has been raising money for local schools and hospitals since 2007.
Bidding is taking place at NBA Auctions with the opener for each at $100. The auctions are open through October 24, prior to the team’s season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies.
