Two Joe Jackson items were among the top sellers in Hunt Auctions’ latest catalog sale.
The deadball era icon couldn’t write very well, but was able to carefully pen a signature on legal documents when the need arose. One such document, well known in the hobby and most recently on display at Green Diamond Gallery in Cincinnati, sold for $61,135. A loving cup style trophy as presented to Jackson as a member of the Cleveland Naps in 1914, netted $32,312.
It was originally presented to Jackson by entertainer Jean Bedini after Cobb outhit Ty Cobb during a series between the Naps and Tigers that season.
A rare Mickey Mantle Fan Club pin from early in his career was the second highest selling item in the auction. The 1 ½” pin bearing the image of the Yankees new young slugger rocketed to $38,305. A program signed by Mantle and some of his teammates on the 1950 Joplin Miners sold for $6,550.

COMC says it shipped 1.3 million items in the first three months of the year, with nearly 200,000 packages leaving the company’s facility in Redmond, WA. Shipments in January increased over 80% from January 2023.
That’s meant some long waits for collectors. The company says it’s taken several steps in an effort to get through the backlog, including a night shift the company says will “double our fulfillment capacity.”
They also hired a process engineer “to identify new opportunities to streamline and accelerate our operation.”
