You won’t find a more avid collector of Auston Matthews memorabilia than Mark Fera.

The Canadian collector hopped on the Matthews train long before the Toronto Maple Leafs star had set foot on NHL ice. Matthews spent his draft year with the Zurich Lions in Switzerland a few years ago and Fera went to great lengths to acquire a couple of pretty wild jerseys worn there.
Since that time he’s built a collection of jerseys, pucks, equipment and even the first pitch baseball the young draftee tossed prior to a Buffalo Bisons baseball game. No matter what you collect, you can appreciate the zeal behind his efforts that were chronicled in this recent story in Canadian newspapers.

It was purchased by collector around the time of issue for $175.
Two vintage basketball cards topped bidding in Robert Edward Auctions’ latest Encore monthly sale. A PSA 8 Bill Russell rookie card was the top seller at $168,000 while a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar rookie in the same grade netted $43,200.
A PSA 7.5 1949 Bowman Satchel Paige topped the baseball card offerings at $33,600 while a PSA 5 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle rookie sold for $30,000.
A big crowd turned out for the Dallas Card Show over the weekend.
Among the thousands in attendance was Mickey Mantle’s son David, showing off a couple of his dad’s most famous cards.
