Albert Pujols hasn’t exactly been a regular on the sports card show circuit over the last two decades but the Angels’ first baseman will be among the autograph guests at this summer’s National Sports Collectors Convention.
Pujols stands seventh on the all-time home run list with 614 and should join the 3,000 hit club well before the show’s August 1-5 run in Cleveland when the Angels will be in Cleveland for a weekend series.
While the date and time of the apperance hasn’t been announced yet, it’s a good bet Pujols will sign in the late morning on either Friday or Saturday since the two teams will play night games on both days and the Angels will be flying in Thursday night following a day game at Tampa Bay.
There was also no word on cost, but it’s a safe bet the latest member of one of the game’s most exclusive hitting clubs won’t be cheap.
Topps has unveiled the latest additions to its “Living Set” checklist. Cards featuring Shohei Ohtani, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Russell Martin will be on sale for the next week through the special page on Topps’ website.
Last week’s print runs were also unveiled. Topps sold 5,446 cards of Rhys Hoskins, 3042 of Ian Happ and 2,678 of Nick Markakis.
eBay’s flurry of promotions continued this week. On Tuesday, the company offered 15% off sitewide—the second sitewide discount this month. The promotion was only good for about seven hours.
Through the end of the month, there’s a 15% discount available through a very small number of major sellers of sports memorabilia, including newer unopened boxes. Click here and you can then sort by category or search for what you’re looking for. You’ll need to type in the code PSPRINGBF at checkout.
