Eye appeal wins again. A new record price for a PSA 3 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle was set early Friday morning when Heritage Auctions closed the curtain on its latest trading card sale. The card, well centered but with a slight crease, sold for a whopping $162,000–smashing the old mark of $90,000 set in February through an eBay seller.
A year ago, a typical price for a PSA 3 was around $25,000–or less.
Also sold in the auction: a 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan PSA 10 at $480,000 and Roberto Clemente rookie card graded PSA 8 that netted a record price of $78,000.
Goldin Auctions has two PSA 10 Jordan rookie cards in its current card auction, which now has a new closing date of Saturday, March 20.
Some big ticket basketball card auctions were set to close on eBay between Friday and Sunday including a PSA 10 Jordan rookie card and sticker, a BGS 10 Topps Chrome LeBron James rookie and a National Treasures Stars & Stripes Zion Williamson rookie patch auto numbered to 30. Luka Doncic’s jersey from the Dallas Mavericks’ Christmas Day game this season sold for $43,340 through NBA Auctions Thursday night.
Doncic wore the green Classic Edition jersey during the Mavs’ 138-115 loss to the Lakers on at STAPLES Center. He played 34 minutes and registered a team-high 27 points with a team-high 7 seven assists that day.

A rare set of three 1997-98 Upper Deck Authenticated Michael Jordan autographed “Dynasty” jerseys is on the block through Auction of Champions. The set of 1997-98 ProCut Nike jerseys was limited to 123 and each of the jerseys in the group at auction is numbered 92/123.
The jerseys are rarely seen as a set, which includes a white home jersey, red away jersey and black alternate. Embroidered stats at the bottom chronicle the Bulls’ six NBA championship seasons.
The lot is part of the company’s MVP Auction that runs through March 29.
The puck shot by Alex Ovechkin for his 68th career playoff goal is on the auction block through MeiGray. Ovechkin’s goal on August 18 helped the Capitals beat the islanders 3-2 in Game 4 of their First Round series last season.
It’s among 26 different pucks and goal pucks in the auction, which runs through April 8.
