Collectors who can’t get enough of the show floor at the National Sports Collectors Convention can stick around for Thursday Trade Night.
For the first time, the six-year-old event will actually be held on site at the Atlantic City Convention Center and be sanctioned by the National.
Last year, over 3,000 people attended the event, which started in 2016 with a crowd of just a few dozen.
This year’s event – sponsored by Panini America, Goldin, and Whatnot – will take place Thursday evening, July 28. As has been the case from the beginning, Trade Night will be free to attend and is open to all National attendees.
“We are absolutely blown away by the incredible support our Trade Night has received over the years and are extremely proud to say we are now the ‘Official Trade Night of the National,’ ” stated Jimmy Mahan of Kentucky Cards, who helped get Trade Night started six years ago. “Our goal from the beginning was to create a welcoming and inclusive event that was fun, free, positive, and memorable. The fact that we’ve been able to do that is a true testament to the goodness of the collecting community and, as we’ve grown, the incredible generosity of our sponsors.”
“National Trade Night is a massive undertaking but is easily one of the most rewarding projects of my year every year,” stated fellow organizer Ryan Johnson of Card Collector 2 in Ohio. “It’s incredible to think of where this event started and how it’s grown. That’s as humbling as it is exciting and we’re looking forward to delivering the best Trade Night yet in Atlantic City.”
Organizers are expecting this year’s Trade Night to be the biggest one yet and, as a result, are asking those who plan to attend to take one minute to fill out the online guest list.
Free tee-shirts and goodie bags will be handed out to all guests.

One of the NHL’s top draft picks has a new deal with Upper Deck.
The company announced Tuesday that it has signed top Buffalo Sabres selection Matthew Savoie to an exclusive trading card and collectible agreement.
In 2019 Savoie was drafted #1 overall in the WHL Bantam Draft by the Winnipeg ICE. During his official rookie season, Savoie scored 35 goals and 55 assists totaling 90 points. Throughout his 65 games played, Savoie led all WHL rookies in points. After his career in the WHL, Savoie was drafted 9th overall by the Sabres.
This license grants Upper Deck exclusive rights to feature Savoie’s autograph on trading cards, collectibles, and memorabilia. He’ll be featured on autographed Team Canada and Winnipeg ICE pucks, jerseys, and a variety of autographed prints showcasing Savoie in his Winnipeg ICE uniform.
“Matthew is an offensively gifted player with premier playmaking abilities, and we are thrilled to have him join the Upper Deck family, “said Jason Masherah, President of Upper Deck. “We are looking forward to watching him grow and thrive as a player on and off the ice.”
