Items from the personal collection of long time Dodgers general manager Fred Claire are being offered in the current SCP Auctions catalog, including several championship rings and press pins. Claire was the club’s GM from 1987 to 1998.
A portion of the proceeds from each of Claire’s items in the auction will go to the City of Hope.

The trickle down impact of the $12.6 million sale of the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle continues, even to lower grade examples. SCP is offering an SGC 3.5 example in its current auction. Bidding was at nearly $57,000 as of late Thursday afternoon.
The record was set in March when an SGC 3.5 sold on eBay for more than $68,000.
Eight other Mantle cards are in the auction including an SGC 9 1959 Topps and a PSA 7 Bowman rookie.
The auction is set to close Friday, Sept. 9.

The hobby will have another seven-figure card this weekend with the sale of a 1/1 Justin Herbert through Goldin. Bidding is already at $1.1 million.
Later this month, expect another huge price for one of the hobby’s top Roberto Clemente rookie cards. It led off PWCC’s September auction Thursday, with bidding expected to climb to seven figures before bidding ends September 22.
Of the 4,735 copies of Clemente’s rookie card ever graded by PSA, only 11 have received a PSA 9 grade with one 10 in the population report. Another 9 set the record for the grade in March of 2021 at $1.1 million.
The auction also includes a 2009 National Treasures Stephen Curry RPA numbered to 25 and graded BGS 9.5.
Three copies have appeared at auction this year – and the last BGS 9.5 sold for $840,000.

MeiGray recently held its 17th annual Expo, an event for game-worn jersey collectors, with a special focus on hockey. There’s now a video from the event in New Jersey.
You can check out the sea of items that were up for grabs and check out a chat about a variety of topics including how those new sponsor patches we’re seeing on jerseys and equipment might actually help with photo matching efforts.
