eBay is increasing its final value fees across most categories beginning March 1, including sports cards and memorabilia.
The current rate of 12.35 percent will rise to 12.9 percent for items sold on that date or later.
That means on a $200 item, sellers who are currently paying $24.70 in fees to eBay will pay $25.80.
The company did throw sellers one piece of positivity: Currently, eBay keeps a $0.30 per-order fee when buyers cancel an order. Starting on March 1, the entire final value fee, including the $0.30 per-order fee, will be refunded to sellers when those cancellation requests are approved.

Topps plans to turn Mickey Mantle into an NFT. The company announced Thursday it would be auctioning a 1/1 digital version of the iconic 1952 Topps card.
It’ll be the company’s first NFL auction on the OpenSea platform.
The NFT is the first featured collectible in the Topps Timeless Series, a new collection “celebrating the company’s most iconic baseball cards through exclusive, premium 1-of-1 NFT collectibles,” according to a press release.
“Throughout Topps’ rich history, and especially over the last few years, several iconic baseball cards have been designated as holy grails to the collecting community. With our Topps Timeless Series, we now bring these historic cards to the blockchain as NFTs that can be owned forever and passed down for generations,” said Tobin Lent, VP & General Manager of Topps Digital Sports & Entertainment.
The NFT will be minted as an ERC-721 token and is a recreation of the card that is considered the crown jewel of Topps’ first full scale major league card set. It will “include video of historical imagery and memorabilia that showcase and celebrate Mickey Mantle’s legacy,” according to the company.
The auction will go live on the OpenSea platform on March 1st at 1pm EST and end March 4 at 1pm EST. Any bid placed in the last 10 minutes will extend the auction by an additional 10 minutes. The winner of the auction will also have a chance to chat via video conference with to Mantle’s sons, Danny and David.
